How to record and listen by phone

You can use a telephone, a telephone with conference call capability, or a cell phone.

1. Dial 1-888-943-2763 (1-888-9-HEAR-ME)

2. Log in with your Recorder ID and PIN.

3. Follow the instructions to record or listen.

If you want to share listening access to your Voice Library with a friend, but do not want them to record, follow these instructions.

 

Listen by phone

1. Dial 1-866-343-2763 (1-866-3-HEAR-ME).

2. Log in with the Listener ID and Password.

3. Select a recording from the list.

Listen online

1. Visit www.TheVoiceLibrary.net. Click Log In at the upper right of the page.

2. Click Listener and enter the same Listener ID and Password. Click Log In.

3. Select any of the recordings to listen.

How to record by computer

You can use a computer headset with microphone, or a computer microphone to record.
Make sure your microphone is plugged in and turned on.

1. Visit www.TheVoiceLibrary.net. Click Log In at the upper right of the page.

2. Click Recorder and enter your Username and Password. Click Log In.

3. Click on the Number of your card.

4. Click Record New.

  • You will see the Adobe Flash Player Settings; click the Microphone image (fourth tab).
  • Move the Record Volume while speaking at a normal volume; the colored bar should stay in the yellow area while you are speaking. Click Close.

5. When you are ready to start your story, click Record. When you are finished, click Stop.

6. Place your cursor on the red bar, and click the right mouse button. This will open the Adobe Flash Player Settings. Re-adjust the volume, and click Close.

7. Next to Enter Title, type the title of your recording.

8. Press Record to record your title. Click Stop when you are finished. Click Save.

Your recording will then be saved to your Voice Library; when your friends call in to listen by phone, they'll hear the story title that you just recorded.

 

How to upload an MP3

You can add any audio file that has been converted to an MP3 file (128 kpbs).

1. Visit www.TheVoiceLibrary.net. Click Log In at the upper right of the page. Log in as a Recorder.

2. Click Upload MP3.

3. Enter a Title. Click Select.

4. Find the MP3 file on your computer that you want to upload. Click the title to select it, and click Open.

5. Click Continue. The cost to upload an MP3 is $1 - $3, based on the size of the file.

6. Click Checkout. Enter your billing information. Enter your credit card information. Click Proceed.

7. Click Continue.

You can record a title for your MP3; this is what your friends will hear when they visit your Voice Library by phone.
